Me & What I do

Hello and thanks for visiting my site, I hope you like what you’ve seen so far…

My name is Paul, I’ve been a professional Wedding Photographer for 8 years and i’m from Plymouth, South Devon. I have a passion for photographing and meeting new people and where better to do this than at a wedding…

During my time in the Wedding Industry I have built up good relationships with a few venues and I’m currently one of the recommended suppliers for St Elizabeths House, Plympton & The Horn Of Plenty, Tavistock

I would describe my Wedding Photography as ‘Observational Documentary’ with a strong Portrait element. In other words I like to let the day unfold naturally. For 90% of the wedding day I capture those special moments that occur organically and also those the moments between the moments that you often won’t notice on your busy day. I’m not a pushy photographer, no shouting or herding of guests and no silly poses just unobtrusive documentary with a few traditional group shots.

There is always a little part of the day for those extra special Bride and Groom shots that really make the album. They are very natural and with very little direction from myself. I treat it as a short walk around the venue or second location. Stopping a few times along the way for some relaxed shots of just the 2 of you. It’s a great time for you to spend a few minuets together away form the hustle and bustle of the day, just to a have a few quiet moments together to reflect on what just happened.

On the whole newly married couples make their own poses and its often the transition from one pose to another that make the best pictures, such as a whisper or a glance you give each other. It’s this that I’m constantly on the look out for and a skill I have developed over the many weddings I’ve covered and fundamental to the Documentary style I love. It’s a privilege to be allowed access to capture one of the most important days of a couple’s life.

Each wedding is different and I make sure I treat it this way. I aim to give a full customer experience to each couple. Anyone wishing to talk further gets a free detailed consultation where we cover your plans, discuss a rough time scale for the day, as well as establishing an initial relationship. This helps everyone feel more comfortable and this translates into a more relaxed personal feel to the photographs. When it comes to photography mixing business with pleasure is an essential.

I like to use a combination of Black & White and delicately enhanced colours during the editing process. Each photo is individually edited in my own style separating my photos from the crowd. As with all professionals my technique and style is constantly and subtly evolving as I undertake more training and different editing techniques become available.

Paul was amazing to work with. I organised my wedding from Australia and he was very accommodating of all my needs and questions in the lead up to the wedding.

We are so happy with the photos we have had - I booked him based on his work in his portfolio and the results didn't disappoint! I have had so many compliments on the photos, I would definitely recommend to any one.
